Katie is an Islander who graduated in 2010 from Memorial University in St. John’s, NL with a degree in Kinesiology. Having completed the honours and co-operative specializations, she gained knowledge of working in rehabilitation, special populations, athletic therapy, ergonomics, fitness, exercise physiology, and human factors research. After graduation, Katie worked with Sport PEI and then Special Olympics PEI as the youth development and program coordinator.

Currently, Katie is working to complete her Master’s of Science – Kinesiology at UPEI where her research involves aging and physical activity. She strives to continue to keep up to date on the most recent research in exercise and physiology and to challenge the norms. Katie believes that the quickest way to see results is to have a positive attitude and to find a variety of fun and challenging ways to work up a sweat.
